Between mobile phones and tablets, smart devices have become an integral part of many consumers’ lives. Now we’ve discovered i’m Watch, a device that’s billed as “the first real smartwatch” and goes well beyond simply telling time.
The creation of Milan-based Blue Sky, i’m Watch offers a touch-screen, high-resolution display, a Bluetooth connection to the user’s smartphone and a 4GB memory card. Calls, text messages, email, music, photos, videos and the Internet are all accessible through the Android-based device, which is available in several versions. Buyers of the i’m Color watch, for instance, can select from among seven color options; pricing is EUR 249, and music subscriptions are also available. A titanium version starts at EUR 499, while the i’m Jewels version — available in yellow gold, pink gold, black gold or white gold with diamonds — costs EUR 9,999. Shipments will begin in January. The video below explains i’m Watch in further detail:
I’m Watch will be on display at the upcoming Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in January. An app store for the watch is due to launch around the same time, and the SDK for developers is available now. App-minded entrepreneurs: one to get involved in?
